WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU START LUSTING AFTER FASTING

I feel squicky talking about this one today but since the burden is upon me. I must through the help of God lay some emphasis about this.

It’s already obvious that when we fast we open up our Spirit to receive signals and intuition either from God or Satan. Yeah, you read that right! Fasting also help people in the dark world get spiritual insight. But a Christian who’s born of the Spirit would receive divine spiritual understanding from God when he or she fasts.

So the first question is “Are you born of the Spirit?”.

The Bible talks about two kinds of lust. The lust of the eyes and of the flesh. The lust of the eyes manifest through the things we see whereas the latter manifest through touch and feeling. Whatever form they manifest, it’s all as a result of unending desires of the flesh!

Sometimes the reason why we go on fast is not necessarily to kill it. Because the flesh definitely can’t be killed, it can only be mortified by the Spirit.

So let’s say someone out there, maybe you? Is put on a fast by God. And then you ask why? But then He (God) says nothing. He just keeps you silent. However he gives you a nudging for an answer. And that nudging tells you that you need to be purged of something that is still existing in you.

Although you’re a servant of God, full of the Word and fire. You may ask how many days, and then he says “7 days son” – 6-6pm everyday! Whoa that’s sound uneasy, but that’s your breakthrough.

It doesn’t matter how tough it sounds now, He surely will give you strength for the Journey. So you embark on the fast. Praying and studying the word. But in the long run you discover that lust begins to manifest, pride begins to manifest, hatred and bitterness also began to manifest. And then you’re confused.

What just happened is that the serpent just got exposed by the dealings of God. Be bold and thank God for your Obedience.

All that the enemy wants is to put fear in your mind, however, be bold and thankful because the flesh is being dealt with.

Two things fasting does to you

  • Fasting opens you up to the Spiritual :

You know so many people who fasts don’t even know this. When we fast our Spirit is not only sensitive but very open to the Spiritual world. I’m not just talking about the divine Spiritual in Christ only but the dark spiritual also. The only way to stay aligned in fasting is through the Word of God.

I deliberately study my Bible more frequently than any other times when I’m on fast. This is not because I’m afraid of some devils, no? But because I want to stay aligned in receiving instructions from God, hearing what He wants me to hear and saying what He wants me to say and not what that ancient serpent wants me to say.

The Bible encourages us to pray without ceasing because it’s essential to focus your Spiritual man only on what God has to say. It’s very common to see people today on 7 days fast, 21 days fast and so on.

Sometimes the problem persists even after the fast. This happened not because you didn’t fast well, but every result after a fast is dependent on the activity that went on during the fast.

  • Fasting Does not change the will (word) of God :

Yeah, I think we need to know this truth. Although fasting is a spiritual sacrifice, but it has no power to change the will of God. Remember the story of David and Uriah? Uriahs wife had just given birth for her Master David and Nathan prophesied the death of the son because of the Sins of David. David however went into the altar and cried and sought the name of the Lord.

"2 Samuel 12:16 David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth".

"2 Samuel 12:19 But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead."

Yes! He lost the child. We don’t fast to change the will of God but to establish it. Because however it maybe, His will is forever perfect!
