In one of our meetings, we got the privilege of speaking to a man whom is supposedly in his mid-thirties. He’s got quite a mustache and a heavily crafted tattoo on his right and left arm. We were just wandering about the streets looking for an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus. Well, we met the pretty Young man. He looked confident and yet unable to gratify the shame of engaging a conversation with us. He glared at my Bible for quite a time and gave me that ‘don’t-preach-a-boring-sermon’ look.
Seeing I now got his attention, we decided to throw some few gigs but it seemed like he wasn’t going to buy it. So we just forged ahead telling him about the Love of Jesus. He just sat right there in that wooden chair and let his eyes glide undisturbed. We told him about God’s love for mankind, and read scriptures for him. Well, I was happy he gave us his ears until something made me shift a little into creation. Just then he threw a dissatisfied look. And cuts in; Jesus didn’t create the World, God did. We recognized his limitations and decided to help him with Scriptures.
“of course he did!” I’d said. “look here, John 1:1-3”.
Jhn 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Jhn 1:2 "The same was in the beginning with God."
Jhn 1:3 "All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
He became dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say anyway. But this man wouldn’t stop there he went on to criticise everything and just stuck with what he considered is the truth that “Jesus never created the world but God did”. Deep down I knew he just willingly didn’t want to give in. The Lord is God the father, son and Holyghost. And there’s no segregation of the three. This is what we call trinity. The faith of every believer lies in God through the son by the Spirit. There’s no segregation of any. But this man just wouldn’t budge. For some reasons he felt he has been betrayed by Jesus and the church so he wouldn’t want to have anything to do with the name Jesus again. He explained how he stopped going to church and whilst he spake all I could just feel is his hurt.
Dear friends of God, Jesus is the way, truth and life and like the Scripture say, nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Not even Angels. You may have felt betrayed in some way by attending a church and for some reason they have all despised you and so you’ve got nothing to do with Church again. But let me quickly tell you that the Church is, but a group of people who needs therapy and Jesus is the specialist here. The person who did that to you may also be facing the same problem with you. So we all need therapy. Don’t kick yourself out when God hasn’t kicked you out. This man had lost trust for Jesus because of hurts but yet claimed he’s still a Christian. O’ dear, that’s not part of God’s promise to us.
Jhn 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
“… I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT!” that’s the Scripture! Stop kicking yourself out. Acknowledge the fact that you’ve got some hurt and come to your Doctor, Jesus. He’ll heal you! Yes He’ll.
We prayed with him and left. I’m pretty sure that he received the answer to his hurts; JESUS!
