UNMASKING GOD’S WORD FOR YOUR LIFE!

Many people have asked “why is God’s word not effective?”. Some have been asked to give a penny to get God’s word active in their life. But that’s all deception. They are Bunch of lies. Gods word need no dime to Work. You can say that again. The word of God spoken over your life, your health, your marriage needs no penny for it to be effective. It’s forever effective. It doesn’t even need you to do anything to be effective. So many people often love to listen to some deceptive words coming from a bunch of so-called friends who tells them to sow some hundred dollars for the word of God to work. Come out from among them! We don’t sow seeds (substance) to get God’s word working. You can sow seeds as a way of acting your faith but it’s never goin’ to get God’s word less effective or more effective! The word of God is yea, and Amen.

Why are many people still unable to get God’s word working in their life?

Someone may be tempted to ask “why is the word not working in my life then?” but you’re never going to get the word working in your life! You don’t need to. The word of God works and doesn’t need to be persuaded by anyone before it can work. O’ wish you’ve got that! Well, it’s not only you who have been tempted to do something to get God’s word working. Saul tried to get God’s word working but he failed. So much that God’s word stripped him off the throne. We see a little bit of that illustration in 1 Samuel 13;

1Sa 13:5 “And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.”

1Sa 13:6 “When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed, ) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.”

1Sa 13:7 “And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.”

1Sa 13:8 “And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.”

Now the Philistines had gathered themselves together to fight Saul and his men. But as custom (culture) demands in Israel, no one ever went out to the battle except they have heard what God’s word is from the Prophet. This time, the Word of God was given through the mouth of the Prophets. So, this was Saul in the middle of the war and he’s obliged to follow custom. He needs not to do anything until Prophet Samuel arrived and had finished giving the burnt offerings. But Samuel came not to Gilgal where Saul was. For seven days, the enemy made continuous advancement but Samuel delayed. According to God’s word through the Prophet they need not to make any advances till he offered the burnt offerings and heard from God! But here is Saul and his men scattered everywhere for fear of the Philistines. What should they do? The Philistines had already surrounded them by now. What is your advice to Saul? You may be tempted to ask him to persuade the Word and get it working for himself! Maybe he doesn’t need Samuel afterall, he’s already delayed the war, now all Isrealities will die if Saul doesn’t do anything about it. Did they?

1Sa 13:8 “And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.”

1Sa 13:9 “And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.”

1Sa 13:10 “And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.”

1Sa 13:11 “And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;”

1Sa 13:12 “Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.”

So Saul didn’t keep the Word! He wanted to get the Word working real quick for fear of the Philistines, so he offered the burnt offerings. He disobeyed! Thats what many of you do! God promised to bring you into a land flowing with milk and honey but ofttimes you don’t see those promises working and so you try to persuade His words by doing something for yourself. So many have gotten their hands dirty in a bid to get God’s word working. God’s word ain’t need you to do something about it to work. Let that sink deep into your heart. Let’s see what happened to Saul afterwards;

1Sa 13:13 “And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.”

1Sa 13:14 “But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.”

And so the kingdom was stripped off the hands of Saul because he tried to get the Word working for himself. Are we so sure that those things (those promises, those prophecies) that God has said to us haven’t been stripped off our hands because we’re trying to get the word working? Where you’re now, is that where God initially positioned you to be or you’ve left the presence just like Saul. Stop persuading God’s word to do something. His word is already done everything that needs to be done. He ain’t goin’ to do anything more or less. Abraham tried the same feat and we’re all victims today. He tried to get God’s word working again. He slept with his wifes maid and gave birth to Ishmael, who wasn’t in anyway the promised son. Was God displeased? Yes! So stop trying to get God’s word to work for you! It’s already working! All you have got to do is ‘believe‘.

Just Believe…!

It’s so amazing how that the only thing we’ve ever got to do is believe. That’s a very simple word but very ignored in our world today because many Christians don’t know what it means to believe. They think believing and trusting God’s word is same thing as doing nothing. Believe is not mental and it’s quite different from belief! Believe is an action word; a doing word! Remember I said, we ain’t need to do anything to get the Word of God working in our lives or in the life of someone else, but we’ve got to do what the Word says. Oh yeah! We’ve go to become what the Word says, we’ve got to think what it says, we’ve got to speak what it says, we’ve got to smell and see what it says, we’ve got to do what it says. That’s all there’s brother! You know many people go about telling folks how much they believe in them. But I just say that’s a lie! If you know what believe is, you’d never tell anyone you believe in them, maybe you’d use another word but not ‘believe’. If you believe in something then you’ve got to trust that thing to the point of death. And many of us can’t even trust what our friends say, yet we say we believe. Can you take a bullet for their sake even when you don’t know what they did? A good number of us can’t! That’s what you mean when you say I believe God’s word! It means you can take a bullet for it! And not many people would even want to do that! Job said in Job 13:15; Though He (God) slay me, yet will I trust in him! How oft do we still trust Him when he slays us. If His word to you suggests you jump down the mountain, would you?

Believing ain’t just trust…

Believing ain’t just trusting in someone, you’re also pledging to speak only what that person speaks, think only what that person thinks, do only what he does, and even smell only what he smells. And I’m atleast 120% sure that a good number of us won’t pledge that cos you know the implications. Well, that’s what you mean when you believe in God’s word! You speak only what the Word says even if you’ve got some daredevil telling you not to, you think only the Word, you do the Word, and you see the Word! You should now see why you don’t do anything to get the God’s word working. His word is working, it needs no man persuasion to work but you’ve got to do what the Word says not go against it! The Word of God to Saul was that he makes no burnt offering till the Priest arrives, however, for fear – Saul offered those offerings and lost his kingdom!

Stop trying to get the Word working and Do what it says!
