I do want to address some scriptural exegesis that has been overemphasized due to its doctrinal exuberance. I write this to bring to our consciousness the truth of some acclaimed scripts of ours which I now believe has been used widely in our world. Considering the fact that many has now begun to become acquainted with it that they have misunderstood the context of its content.

As regards the emphasis of John 1:4; there’s need for us to understand what John really had to say about that scripture. Here’s what John 1:4 says by the way;
Jhn 1:4 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men.”
I believe this is not the first time you’ve seen people quote John 1:4. However, there’s something that most folks don’t get why they read through and that’s regarding the subject of Light. I know the Bible has told us that we’re the Light of the World but why did the Bible make such observation? What had made Jesus put those words out there considering the fact that in Him was Life and that life is the Light of all mankind. How are we Light and He’s light too? Are there two Light in this kingdom? Meanwhile, you may say – “I think what the Bible is trying to say is that Jesus is the Supreme light and we’re little light”. But does such exist? Can we have two different light in this kingdom?
Well, the answer is no! There’s only one Light and that’s Jesus! He’s the only Light and the Only Life! Just as John 1:4 had said, in Him (the Word) was life; and the life was the Light of men. Jesus is the only Light we’ve in this kingdom. Before I say anything further, I want you you to get this. The moment you get this a lot of questions and doubt will be answered. JESUS IS THE ONLY LIGHT! you can say it out loud; confess it now — Jesus is the only Light! We’ve had enough spiritual Christians who lack the revelation of this word. They don’t know Jesus is the only Light and that’s why it’s difficult for them to do; don’t tell me you know Jesus is the only Light in this kingdom and you’re afraid to walk up to that person and deliver him from that sickness. If you truly know it’s Jesus who works in you both to do and to will, you’ll not be trying so hard to meet a specific feeling before you can walk up to that person. Some even need a feeling to pray whereas the Bible says that it’s the Spirit that helpeth our infirmities!
What I’m saying is that many of us see ourselves as the source but not the vessel. We think we’re the light whereas God is the light. We think we’re the performers whereas God is the performer.
Brethren, We’re reflectors not illuminators! O’ wish you got that one! If you realize you’re but a reflection of God’s glory, I don’t think you’ll struggle provoking someone to receive his healing, I don’t also think it’ll be difficult to go do the things he’s asked you to do! Stop trying to be light, you can never be the Light, Jesus is the Light, we’re a reflection of that light. Mind you I didn’t say don’t be a light to your generation, I’d only said, stop trying to prove a point, key into the Life of God and you’ll reflect the light. I say this because many of us are trying so hard to be the light and it’s not working, you know it, it’s not working! Why? Because you’ve forgotten who the light truly is, that’s Jesus! If you realize He’s the light, all you’ll ever do is depend on him for illumination!

Question: should we call the moon a star just because it reveals a dim light to the earth at night? Of course you know the answer is no! The moon only reflects a portion of the sun. Though the light we reflect in Jesus is not dim, yet, we’re just like the moon, Jesus is the bright morning star that shines brighter and brighter. The deeper we’re in him, the more intense is our light and fire! Hence the question isn’t how bright is your light but how intimate are you with him?
Unfortunately, we’re in a generation that wants to shine as light and have forgotten their source, the true light! That light that shines in darkness and the thick darkness can not comprehend. I’m not doubting that God has told you to arise and shine; but for a moment take a clean look at that scripture again, you should now be asking yourself “arise, and shine what?”, the Light (life) of God!
I close with this, perhaps, there are a few of you who are still trying to get somethings done by your energy and strength. Whereas, there are some who have given up already cos’ what they’ve been engaged in isn’t working at all! Well, I have good news, Jesus is our illuminator, when He illuminates our business, it shines! He can call forth dead things to life. Yes, He can call forth closed inventories, businesses, marriages to life! Yes, He can! But will you put your hope in Him once again, knowing fully well that He’s the Light, he’s the Illuminator, we can’t take that position away from Him. He’s the only Light we’ve in this Kingdom, we’re but reflectors of that Light. Glory to God, He’s bringing everything right now (broken homes, broken marriages, broken hearts, broken businesses) back to LIFE!
