While you’re grieving and mourning over the past, the devil is rejoicing and planning for the future.
Instead of sitting in regret, pick up your sword! Pick up your voice, your strength, your boldness, and your faith — all of which are found in Christ Jesus — and fight back.
Do not dwell on the things of old, for even God no longer remembers them. You only make yourself look foolish when you keep your mind fixed on what’s already been forgiven. In fact, it is foolishness to stay trapped in old memories. You waste precious time when you refuse to fight back, and you give the devil more time to plan ahead when you stay silent.
God is not only happy when we finally overcome after an attack; He is happier when we fight back — when we strike the enemy right at his jugular until his lifeblood stops flowing.
Be graphic and intentional in fighting back. What good does it do heaven if we merely overcome temptation, yet leave the tempter roaming free — smiling, active, and unbothered? There is no joy in heaven for that.
As one who has given the devil a dirty blow before writing this book, I can assure you — heaven rejoices when we bruise the serpent’s head.
Have you not read Genesis 3:14? The serpent may strike the heel, but we will strike back by bruising his head.
Now, I love to be graphic when I speak. According to the English dictionary, the word bruise means “to strike a person, originally with something flat or heavy, in such a way as to discolor the skin without breaking it.”
We may not yet have the power to completely destroy the serpent’s head — that final victory belongs to Christ when He returns in full glory and casts the enemy into the lake of fire — but we do have the power to discolor his skin.
Ah! That means we can change his appearance so drastically that many will no longer recognize him or his influence again.
You may ask, “Chidera, how are you so sure of this?”
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22, “Shun all appearance of evil.”
We don’t achieve that by sitting down and endlessly meditating on how to fight back — no!
We fight back immediately!
We go all out — into the streets, our offices, our homes, our territories, our businesses — and bruise his face until it becomes unrecognizable.
When others begin to see temptation and choose righteousness instead, when they see pleasure and choose purity, that’s when you know you’ve truly bruised the serpent’s face.
There is a mighty wind blowing across the continents right now — across Africa, Asia, and many parts of the world. The end time is so close that it literally makes the hair on my skin rise in reverence and awe.
I cannot help but wonder what the recompense of the wicked will be. Christians right now are awakening — a mighty stirring is happening in the Spirit!
Let me show you something quickly from the book of Revelation…
[9] When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
[10] They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
[11] Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters, were killed just as they had been.
Revelation 6:9-11 NIV
We have no idea how many more martyrs must fall before the Sovereign Lord finally releases His judgment — but after the transition of Charlie Kirk into glory, I’m convinced the number isn’t that many anymore. Those of us still here have a divine role to play — and time is no longer on our side. The gospel must spread fast.
God will not sit forever, simply listening to the cries of those who were slain because of His Word. No! The heavens are already stirring. The courts of God are active, preparing for judgment. That’s why there’s such a heavy awakening, a spiritual alarm ringing across the nations — especially among the youth who still believe they have all the time in the world to chase pleasure and vanity.
There’s glory ahead! So strip yourself of every pride, every ounce of hate, and every sin that clings to your flesh like a parasite. Dust off that forgotten Bible lying on your shelf — and fight back!
