Eternity! The very nature of things have been able to tell us that nothing stays. Even our investments are perishable. Things around us many time dies without our consent. The truth is unarguably undeniable that even man is not above some limitation such as Death. Because, we are gonna leave this Earth one day but with a lot of Seeds harvested for Jesus.

So today we will be looking at how to stay in the faith in this perilous time!

  • What does it mean to stay in the Faith?

  • Is it going to be any better?
  • Three keys for staying in the Faith this season.

What does it mean to stay in the Faith?

Is staying in the Faith some mental way of telling yourself never to give up? Is this some way of keeping high hopes? Of course not! If staying in the Faith is just a mental activity then Faith is rendered useless. In 1 Peter 4:19 the Bible says “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator”. This proves that its not some mental way of trusting God for deliverance, its rather deals with Submission. No man has the capacity to keep his Faith in God especially during this trying season. It’s very rare to go a mile without been enticed with the substances of this earth. Sometimes, you’re all encapsulated in the box of your mind as to matters pertaining your physical wellbeing, appearance and outlooks, if you already have Kids you’d hear them asking for new clothes, new toys, new novels and so on. Very fine but that’s a whole lot of temptation to get someone who isn’t stable in finance off the track. You see why it’s not a mental stuff because you will need help. So 1 Peter 4 :19 therefore encourages us to submit all in the hands of God. In summary, staying in the Faith is nothing less than the process of waiting! If we must wait progressively in Christ we must come to the place of Submission. And one thing he will do to you when you enter this realm if Submission is spiritual dealings. Through spiritual dealings our Spirit man comes alive and our soul is drained from every interference of the flesh.

What does the Bible say about perilous times?

Perilous times are season of tribulation. This was prophesied by Daniel, Isaiah and Jesus. In fact Jesus made it more precise and specific. You should read Matthew 24. So some funny folks thinks it going to be any easier this new year, of course it will not… Every sign listed in these scriptures will continually manifest till His appearance and all eyes shall behold the coming of the King. Here are five specific signs told by Jesus to his disciples in Matthew 24

  1. Fake Prophets.
  2. Wars and rumors of war.
  3. Famines, pestilence and earthquake.
  4. Persecution in the body of Christ.
  5. Iniquity shall abound causing the love of many to wax cold.
Gal 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."

Is it going to be any better?

Oh no! Sorry to dissatisfy you. Jesus never said its going to be any better. The text above encourages us not be weary in well doing, for I due season we shall reap only if we do not faint. This waiting is continuous. You don’t decide to rest. A little sleep, a little slumber, so does the enemy comes in to sow tares. As we speak, some of us have unintentionally become cold. We’re as Luke warm! The greatest service to God is not cleaning the Church every morning and night. That’s a good way to start a walk with God. However, every believer should grow an altar of prayer for deep agonizing and groanings to bring the manifestation of God’s will in our life! Without prayer, we’re nothing greater than snails. Let’s Pray!

Three keys for staying in the Faith this season!

1. Submission: according to 1 Peter 4:19

2. Prayer and the Word of God : Galatians 6 :8 – 9. Prayer is one of the way we can sow into the Spirit. If you don’t pray, better be ready to faint.

3. Joining a spiritual family or staying around positively minded friends.
