No situation stays permanent. Every trouble is only a passer-by. Most times, they only come to pass, but folks make them come to stay.
This is what I mean by “folks make them come to stay”, they stay so long in that situation that it becomes their habitation. After struggling with addiction for 15 months, I was beginning to wonder how people ever broke through from theirs because I’ve heard testimonies of those who claimed that the Word of God freed them.
I was reading the Bible everyday yet it seemed as though the situation only grew each time I read the Bible. One time I can never forget how I masturbated while reading the Bible. I felt so ashamed of myself afterwards. I was in shock of my own self. To me this predicament was the end of it all.
I went on YouTube a certain day looking up videos that centered on freedom from addiction. I watched a lot! But a lot of them were just empty talk because none of them did work.
In one of the videos the guy spoke about his experience and how he stayed in addiction for about seven to ten years! And my mouth went wide open. I was in shock! I’m laughing right now as I’m writing this cos that only made me ask myself; would I stay in this addiction for five years minimum before I break free?
“why was it so difficult to break free?” I’d ask my self daily.
I wanted to stop, I wanted to stop doing it badly. Most importantly the fact that I knew it was a sin and could lead me to hell and yet I kept on doing it oppressed me.
How can an unclean spirit be in control of my own body?
Why was it so difficult to break free?
when you have made what was supposed to be an object become the subject, you simply become it slave. And so many have become slaves to sin because it became their subject everyday. Sin became what they always pronounced, imagined, meditated daily.
The power of Sin lies in the deceitful pleasure it comes with. Pleasures that only leaves you harmed, ashamed and depraved.
But God’s creative power is in His word!
God is not holding any last word over your life in His mouth. He has given His words to us. We’ve the creative power of God’s word to utter what we want to see in our lives.
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Romans 10:8
Most are not ashamed of their situation but they are ashamed of God’s word. This in itself is treachery.
They’re quick to say I am a Christian but slow to speak God’s word! If you can’t speak this one thing He left with us on earth, how do you prophess that you love Him?
People of God, His words are everything! Yes! Everything.
Don’t get tired of speaking His word. Keep Saying It, Don’t Stop Saying It.
keep speaking to that challenge, “You challenge, is only a passer-by”.
keep speaking to your body, “He was bruised for my infirmities and by His stripes I’m healed therefore no sickness is permitted in my body”. (Oh my! I can feel the fire of God burning in the heart of someone as I type this).
God is restoring the health of someone right now. You’ve a pain in your body just put your hands right there and declare these words again; “He was bruised for my iniquities and by His stripes I’m healed therefore, no pain is permitted in my body. Satan, take your hands off this body now, in the name of Jesus Christ”
Now begin to check your body for that pain, once you realize it gone, drop a comment, would love to rejoice with you! God's not dead. He's still in the business of healing. Check your body or wherever the pain (was) as possible as you can! You'll realise it's gone! Glory!
Speak to your finances, don’t stop speaking to it; “I rebuke you foul devil tampering with my money, in the name of Jesus Christ”
Keep speaking God’s word! That’s the ingredient that’s left in claiming your inheritance in His kingdom.
KEEP SPEAKING GOD’S WORD!
i can go on giving you testimonies of how the word of God has worked for me, but it all goes down to speaking it.
I want it to work for you too, but you just have to start by speaking it. You don’t have to know everything, you just have to speak the one you already know.
Faith + Utterance= power
The kind of power that created the world. God spoke “let there be light” and there was light. God teaches us how to use His word. We don’t use the Word of God by reading it only. When you want to receive knowledge and build Faith, then you can go on meditating on His word. But when you want a reaction in the Spirit, you’ve to Speak It.
I’ll show you just this one scripture and I’ll let you go!
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and REBUKED the wind, and SAID unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:37-39
(bolded text for emphasis)
Jesus was having a good time in the ship, He was sleeping and there suddenly was a great storm. He didn’t cry “O Father, there’s a storm. What do we do about it?”
Neither did he cry “O sovereign Father, don’t forsake your son, deliver your son from this storm, have mercy upon your son” like many would cry today.
Instead He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, peace, be still. If you have ever tried rebuking someone, you’d know that rebuke doesn’t come in a gentle tone but harsh tone.
Jesus is teaching us how to break free from that situation, that addiction, that debt. It is to rebuke the devil and by that He means harshly as though he was standing right in front of you. And then speak His word to that situation, peace, be still.
Over my children, peace, be still! And to that devil, you’re mad! You’re stupid for trying to hurt my family, now I command you in the name of Jesus to get out of here, RIGHT NOW!
And you’ll see the devils trembling.
The Bible was given to us so we can read and speak those words and not to lock it away in one old shelve for decades till a situation arises in your life.
You can start practicing His Word now! KEEP SAYING IT, DON’T STOP SAYING IT, Jesus told me I’m Healed, so I’m.
